In late 2003, the FDA approved the crystalens® for use in patients in the
US. The crystalens® is the first accommodative IOL approved for use in the
US.
Dr. Carter implanted my crystalens in October 2006. My middle and distance vision were perfect immediately, and my close up-vision continues to improve. Colors are now bright and beautiful.
Nanetta C.
Dr. Carter was the first surgeon
in the US to implant the crystalens® after
it was FDA approved. From his first crystalens® patient to the present,
the results have been exceptional. Our patients now have the ability to see
near and far and everywhere in between without having to depend on glasses - including
reading glasses and bifocals .
The crystalens® was approved
for use in cataract surgery, but Dr. Carter has found that it
may be a better alternative to LASIK for certain patients.
In some middle aged patients, LASIK may be a great way to improve
distance vision, but with a clear lens exchange using the crystalens® Dr.
Carter has given these patients back the vision of their youth - they
can read the road signs like his LASIK patients and still read
books and magazines without having to constantly depend on reading
glasses.
If you're tired of your reading glasses
or bifocals and want to be able to see as you did when you were
younger, crystalens® may be a solution for you.
